The Clinical Assessment Toolkit

Reduce spend throughout your service with the revolutionary Clinical Assessment Toolkit

Our TCES Community software solution goes above and beyond the average community equipment ordering platform. It is a solution that manages every aspect of community equipment, including but not limited to equipment ordering, activity management, self-funding management and purchasing information.

As a software provider to the NHS, we continually strive to make a difference, creating solutions that don’t only help practitioners in their everyday working lives but also to bring cost and operational efficiencies across the board.

What does the Clinical Assessment Toolkit do?

The Clinical Assessment Toolkit enables the assessment of service users for community equipment, resulting in a guaranteed reduction in spend for councils nationwide.

Several toolkits have been created; pressure care, complex seating, beds, hoists and key safes. The initial toolkit created for Pressure Care products has made a significant difference to services. With pressure care expenditure rising significantly on a national scale, constituting on average 35% of total expenditure per council, it quickly became apparent that there was an element of over-prescription of high-level pressure care products. Based on this statistic and the need to reduce this percentage the pressure care toolkit was developed.

Our contract Kirklees Council is a prime example of how adopting TCES Community’s clinical assessment toolkits can lead to significant financial savings and improved service delivery. By utilising the pressure care toolkit in particular they have seen significant savings. Before they adopted the toolkit, they were spending £1,455,909 on pressure care products (products used in the clinical assessment toolkit only) and after just 3 years of use, the toolkit alone has saved an astonishing £530,017.95.

The toolkits streamline the equipment selection process using an innovative traffic light system, designed to aid clinical judgement in the holistic assessment of service users needs. It assists with downgrading service users whom no longer need high-level products aiming to dramatically reduce current expenditure in an area of a service.
